No. 121 Wolf Stare

 

I had photographed gray wolves several times previous to taking this image and wanted something a little different. I came up with an photo in my "mind's eye" of a dark wolf next to a peeling birch tree with side-lighting and large flakes of snow falling down. With this in mind, I headed for northwestern Montana where I had photographed wolves before. I found this dark wolf, I found the birch the light was right but, no snow. Oh, well! 3 out of 4 ain't bad!
