No.170 Water Fight

I was in the McNeil River Bear Sanctuary in southern Alaska photographing Brown Bears on a

special permit when I saw these two male bears fighting over a salmon. I was in the middle of

changing camera lenses when I saw the preliminary staging prior to the battle. I quickly

attached the lens, focused on the bears and hit the motor drive almost without thinking. Ten seconds

later, the fight was over and I knew I either had the shot or I didn't.
