No. 156 Pot o' Gold
These King Penguins were part of a large colony on Salisbury Plain on South Georgia Island 350 miles north of the Antarctic peninsula. This is the sight that greeted me as I landed on the island early one morning. A horrible wind was blowing a light mist directly into my lens, making it difficult to shoot. After an all too brief time, the rainbow disappeared and I was left with the dilemma of which of the 250,000 or so penguins to photograph first.
