No. 129 Antelope Canyon

I had known about Antelope Canyon in Northern Arizona for many years before I finally went there. The photographs I had seen always intrigued me. One thing that amazed me when I finally saw it in person was how short the canyon was. It is only about 200 yards long, but over 150 feet deep. Each year it deepens an average of about 4 feet due to erosion by the river. It is an extremely beautiful, but also dangerous place. A few years ago, several people drowned in another part of Antelope Canyon when a flash flood swept them away. We must never lose our respect for the laws of Nature.
